The Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences of Tsinghua University has been discussing gender for a long time. In 2021, it tried to set up a gender-friendly toilet ( on the fourth floor ) to demonstrate diversity and inclusiveness, and used a rainbow symbolizing the diversity of nature as the image of the door (later, there have been cooperation and feedback The War/ Peace and Gay Movements use it as their flag, but with different color arrangements).
In order to be gender-friendly/neutral or gender-neutral, each toilet is equipped with the same equipment (disabled toilets are equipped according to the law, regardless of gender). There is no gender selection when entering, only habit selection (sitting or squatting). Two of the rooms are equipped with flush toilets, just like a toilet at home. These two rooms are also equipped with experimental running water sound equipment (called Otohime and Otoshogun in Japan) to deal with privacy issues. In addition, each room is equipped with anti-peeping sensors and emergency buttons ( all tests have passed during the initial acceptance and are connected to the pillars of each floor: each floor on the left side of the stairs in the atrium).
